HARARE – Zimbabwe's official media says the African Union (AU) has resolved it won't attend this April's Africa-EU Summit in Brussels if President Robert Mugabe is not invited.

Zimbabwe is smarting from US President Barack Obama's decision not to invite Mugabe to a US-Africa Leaders' Summit later this year and the government insists it would be "madness" to try exclude the Zimbabwean leader from the Brussels meeting.
President Robert Mugabe is back in Zimbabwe after attending the African Union General Assembly in Addis Ababa where he was elected first deputy chair of the group.
State media and Mugabe’s party see this as proof the block has accepted his victory in last July’s polls without reservation and now they believe the European Union (EU) must follow suit.
Foreign Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi told the Sunday Mail that the western block would be forced to capitulate and now invite the Zimbabwean president to the Africa-EU summit in April.
The minister said the AU Commission has been told to make sure every African head of state was invited to the meeting and if anyone is excluded, the AU will cancel the summit.
