President Kenyatta is expected to attend the 5th ordinary summit of
heads of state and government of the International Conference on the
Great Lakes Region.

The summit is aimed at promoting peace, security, stability and development in the region.
Terrorism will top the agenda with leaders discussing how to avert attacks on their soil.
Twelve
presidents are in attendance at the summit including Tanzania’s Jakaya
Kikwete, Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni, Rwanda’s Paul Kagame, Burundi’s
Pierre Nkurunziza, South Sudan’s Salva Kiir Mayardit, Sudans’s Omar
al-Bashir, Zambia’s Michael Sata, Central African Republic’s Michel
Djotodia and the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Joseph Kabila.
Accompanying
President Kenyatta is the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and
International Trade Amina Mohammed and the Defence Cabinet Secretary
Raychelle Omamo.
