Cameroon qualify for finals in Brazil

Cameroon became the 24th country to qualify for next summer’s World Cup finals after a 4-1 play-off win over Tunisia in Yaounde.

Following a 0-0 draw in the first leg, Cameroon were far too good for their North African opponents at home and reached the finals for the seventh time in their history.
Cameroon join Nigeria and Ivory Coast in Brazil after both countries won their respective play-offs on Saturday night.

The Indomitable Lions, who became the first African country to reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup in 1990, took the lead through Pierre Webo after only four minutes before Benjamin Moukandjo's made it 2-0 in the 30th minute.

Tunisia pulled a goal back from substitute Ahmed Akaichi with a left-foot volley in the 50th minute but Jean Makoun scored twice in the second half to settle the tie.
