Jose Mourinho was left disappointed - but not surprised - as he watched his side slump to defeat away at Newcastle United.
Goals from Yoan Gouffran and Loic Remy were enough for the Magpies to run out 2-0 winners at a soggy St James' Park handing manager Alan Pardew his first win over the Portuguese.
And the Special One
admitted afterwards that despite seeing his side clatter the woodwork
twice in the first half he could 'smell' the bad result coming at the
break.
"I told the team (at half-time) that I've been
in the game for many, many years and I was smelling what happened
because it was quite easy to play the first half," he told BT Sport.
"We
had lots of space but we were not sharp, we were not intense with the
ball. We defended quite well, but we were not fast and intense and
aggressive with the ball, so we let the game go.
The
result continues the Blues' distinctly indifferent away form -
Mourinho's men have only won away from home once all season in the
Premier League.
